And the Verdict Is...

That we'll be heading back to the Hospital today at 5:00pm for Round 2 of "Is it a Boy or a Girl?"

***Once again, this is not a joke***

The doctor's office just called me and said that in the end, they weren't able to decipher from the ultrasound whether little Squid is a Boy or a Girl (which makes me wonder why they "guessed" in the first place).

The bottom line is that we went in for Round 1 of "Is it a Boy or a Girl?" on the early side at Week 18 (and the typical recommendation for finding out is between Weeks 18 and 22).  That being said, I'm not completely shocked that they couldn't tell...but at the same time, I am quite shocked and disappointed in the 'system,' if you will, for guessing in the first place.

Note to Doctor's offices everywhere: If you aren't really, really sure if it's a Boy or a Girl, don't guess!!!  Just let us know that it's too early to tell...or that its legs are crossed and it doesn't want to show off its goods right now...I promise we'll come back to find out later!

Call me crazy, but that seems like a pretty legitimate request.

Anyway, this means that we're still waiting...we're still referring to our baby as Squid...and we're still wondering if we're having a baby Boy or a baby Girl.

What a trip!  And what a story we'll have for little Squid.

The saga continues...stay tuned for more this evening!

  1. Oh man! I was all excited to read your post! Can't believe they can't tell yet! We found out in the 16th week. Did you know there is also a drug store product with over 90% accuracy. Costs 30 bucks at Wal-Greens.

Also, the chinese baby calender has a good success rate.
